Reelo alternative

The wallet-native alternative to Reelo.

Reelo built the deepest WhatsApp-marketing stack in Indian restaurant SaaS. Brava bet on a different surface entirely: loyalty cards that live in Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet, with lock-screen presence and geo-fenced alerts when a customer walks past your shop. Two different theories of how retention works in 2026, and very different cost curves at scale.

How Brava's pass actually behaves in Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet is covered on wallet loyalty cards.

Why teams switch to Brava

Wallet-native across Apple, Google, and Samsung

Reelo reaches customers through WhatsApp, SMS, and email, the standard restaurant-CRM playbook. Brava lives inside Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet, the three apps every modern phone already opens daily. The pass is on the lock screen, updates in real time, and surfaces on the customer’s next phone unlock. Three wallets, zero broadcasts, zero per-send cost.

Lock-screen presence + geo-fenced alerts

WhatsApp is a broadcast channel; Brava is a presence channel. The pass is already on the lock screen, and a geo-trigger fires when a customer is within ~100m of your shop. The moment of truth, they are two minutes from your door, happens without anyone hitting send and without paying per message.

Five card types, one product

Reelo focuses on one program model and does it well. Brava is built for the operator running multiple programs in parallel: stamp cards for the cafe, points for the retail line, tiered memberships for the gym, all in a single dashboard.

Multi-vertical, by design

Reelo goes deep on restaurants and that focus is their advantage. Brava is the tool for operators who are not just running restaurants: the F&B group with a salon, the salon chain testing memberships, the retailer adding a stamp program for repeat buyers.

What Reelo does that we deliberately don't

Reelo is the most refined version of the WhatsApp-CRM playbook in Indian restaurant SaaS. We have sat through their sales pitch and onboarded operators leaving their platform after years on it. The product is well-built. The mechanism is wrong. Here is what we chose against, and the behavioral reasoning behind each rejection.

01

Reelo blasts WhatsApp templates. We don't.

WhatsApp lands in an inbox already full of personal chats. Marketing messages there get muted, archived, scrolled past. Worse, per-send economics through Meta's WhatsApp Business API compound the more customers you have, exactly the opposite of how a loyalty program should scale. We've onboarded brands that ran a WhatsApp-CRM loyalty platform for three or four years with six to seven thousand customers in the database and lifetime redemption counts under ten. The mechanism doesn't work, no matter how polished the templates. Brava's wallet pass surfaces on the lock screen the next time the customer touches their phone, with zero per-send cost and no template to write. Presence beats broadcast for the loyalty channel.

02

Reelo integrates with your POS. We don't, and we mean it.

POS auto-credit makes loyalty invisible, and invisible loyalty doesn't form habits. The behavioral mechanic we want is the card-flashing ritual at the counter: customer opens the wallet, barista nods, cashier scans the QR. That three-second moment is the engagement. Skip the ritual via POS auto-credit and the customer forgets the loyalty program exists; the data shows up in the POS report, the relationship doesn't show up in the customer's mind. POS coupling also makes your loyalty layer hostage to your POS vendor. Switch your POS next year and watch the Reelo integration break. Brava is closed-loop by design: run any POS, switch any POS, the wallet pass keeps running. Read the full reasoning at /about/how-we-think/.

03

Reelo ships scale. We ship the actionable layer.

Reelo cites 32,000+ restaurants on their homepage and 80+ ready-to-use WhatsApp + SMS templates on their dedicated catalog. Real assets, for the operator who wants to send campaigns. We built different muscle. Three analytical lenses across sixteen behavioral segments: a 7-segment RFM-flavored taxonomy (Dormant, New, Casual, Loyal, VIP, At Risk, Lost) with adaptive VIP thresholds per business; a 6-tier engagement classification; a 13-segment customer journey sankey showing where the funnel leaks. A leakage-rate metric that tells you exactly what percentage of your at-risk customers never claimed a reward. Per-segment playbooks attached directly to the dashboard. The operator we serve doesn't want eighty templates. They want to know which 47 customers to surprise this week.

The full reasoning behind every "no" on this list lives on How Brava thinks about loyalty.

Common questions

How does Brava's customer-facing surface compare to Reelo's?

Brava issues passes to Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet. Customers install with one tap from a link or QR code; no app to download, no number to give. The pass lives on the lock screen with live updates and geo-fenced re-engagement. Reelo reaches customers through WhatsApp, SMS, email, and QR-linked web pages; Reelo's own mobile app is for restaurant staff, not customers. The trade is presence (Brava) versus broadcast (Reelo): the wallet pass surfaces passively on the lock screen, while Reelo's channels require designing, sending, and paying for each message.

Is Brava a Reelo alternative for restaurants specifically?

Yes, but the positioning is different. Reelo is a full restaurant CRM with WhatsApp marketing and POS integrations across Restroworks, Petpooja, Dotpe, and Allpos. Brava is loyalty-only and POS-independent, with wallet-native delivery and geo-fenced location alerts. Restaurants pick Brava when wallet presence and zero per-message cost matter more than unified order-data analytics.

Can Brava replace WhatsApp marketing?

For loyalty rewards specifically, yes. WhatsApp is a broadcast channel that costs per send via Meta's WhatsApp Business API and lands in an inbox already full of personal chats. Brava is a presence channel: the pass is already on the lock screen, and lock-screen pushes plus geo-fenced alerts fire without per-message cost. Many businesses keep WhatsApp for transactional messaging and use Brava as the loyalty layer.

Does Brava integrate with my POS the way Reelo does?

No, by design. Brava is a closed-loop system that runs alongside any POS without integration. It does not ingest order data from Restroworks, Petpooja, Dotpe, or Allpos, and it does not replace your POS. If unified POS-derived order analytics is a hard requirement, Reelo is the more direct fit. If wallet-behavior intelligence and zero migration cost are, Brava is.

How is Brava's pricing structured compared to Reelo's?

Brava bills per business location on the standard plan, with no per-message cost on the wallet channel because the wallet OS handles delivery free. Reelo's published pricing is ₹3,250 per outlet per month, billed every 12 months, with local taxes charged on top (reelo.io pricing, June 2026); WhatsApp Business API per-send costs are additional, roughly 20 paise per automated message and up to 90 paise per campaign send. Brava's per-location model means cost stays predictable as your customer base grows; per-message models compound with volume.
