MioSalon alternative
Wallet-native loyalty for salons that don't need a full ops rebuild.
MioSalon ships a complete salon-management suite, appointments, staff, inventory, payments, loyalty, used in 50+ countries. Brava goes the opposite direction: loyalty-only, wallet-native, India-first, runs alongside whichever salon software you already use. How Brava's pass actually behaves in Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet is covered on wallet loyalty cards.
Why teams switch to Brava
Wallet-native across Apple, Google, and Samsung
MioSalon ships a web-based booking mini-site for clients. Brava ships the loyalty card directly into Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet, no booking link to remember, no website to bookmark, no app to install. The card is on the lock screen until you walk in next.
Lock-screen presence + geo-fenced alerts
MioSalon nudges via SMS, WhatsApp, and email reminders. Brava sends a wallet notification on the lock screen the moment a client is within ~100m of your salon, before they have decided where to book today. Different point in the journey to capture intent.
Loyalty-only by choice
MioSalon does the whole salon stack: appointments, staff scheduling, inventory, payments, plus loyalty as one module. Brava is loyalty-only on purpose. If your appointment system already works, you do not need to migrate it to add wallet-native retention. Brava plugs in alongside whatever you already run.
India-first, by choice
MioSalon is global across 50+ countries, that international footprint is real. Brava is India-first: Razorpay billing, INR with GST, en-IN copy, geo-notifications tuned for Indian shopping density. If you operate primarily in India, that focus is felt in pricing, support hours, and product details.
What MioSalon does that we deliberately don't
MioSalon is a global salon-management suite with loyalty as one module inside it, engaging clients through WhatsApp (as a Meta-authorized BSP), SMS, and email. Different shape, different priorities. Here is what we chose against, and the behavioral reasoning behind each rejection.
MioSalon engages clients through WhatsApp, SMS, and email. We don't broadcast.
MioSalon is a Meta-authorized BSP with full WhatsApp campaign automation, alongside SMS and email outreach. All three are broadcast channels: design a message, hit send, pay per message, hope it gets opened. Per-send economics across all three compound the more clients you have. For a salon where clients come in every four to eight weeks, blast outreach is the worst possible mechanism: by the time the WhatsApp arrives, the client has already booked somewhere else. Brava is built around the opposite mechanic. The wallet pass is already on the client's lock screen and updates passively. A geo-fenced lock-screen notification fires automatically when the client walks within ~100m of your salon, before they have decided where to book today. Presence at the moment of decision, zero per-message cost. Read the full reasoning at /about/how-we-think/.
MioSalon bundles loyalty into a salon ops suite. We don't bundle.
Loyalty in MioSalon is one module inside appointments, staff scheduling, inventory, and payments. The product surface is huge and loyalty is necessarily one priority among many. We built Brava as loyalty-only, on purpose. Sixteen behavioral segments across three analytical lenses. A leakage-rate metric that tells you what percentage of your at-risk clients never claimed a reward. Per-segment playbooks attached directly to the dashboard. That depth doesn't exist inside a sub-module of a salon ops platform, and it cannot.
MioSalon is global. We chose India-first on purpose.
MioSalon serves 50+ countries. International reach is a real advantage if you operate across borders, and an irrelevance if you don't. We chose to be deliberately India-first: Razorpay billing, INR with GST inclusive, en-IN copy, support tuned for Indian time zones, geo-thresholds calibrated for the density of Indian high streets, payment rails built for the Indian market. Not a localization layer on a global product. The whole product is built for here.

Common questions
Is Brava a salon management system?
No. Brava is loyalty-only. It does not handle appointments, staff scheduling, inventory, or payments. MioSalon is a full salon-management suite. If you need the whole stack in one product, MioSalon. If retention and customer-facing UX are the bottleneck and you are happy with your existing salon ops software, Brava layers on top without replacing anything.
Can Brava run alongside my existing salon software?
Yes, that is the design. Brava is a closed-loop loyalty layer that does not require integration with your salon software. You keep MioSalon, Fresha, Vagaro, Zenoti, or whatever you currently use for ops; Brava handles the loyalty card, lock-screen presence, and geo-fenced alerts.
Does Brava handle salon-specific rewards like service discounts and treatment packages?
Yes. Brava supports five program types: stamp cards, points, tiered membership, discount passes, and full membership cards. A salon can run a "10 services get one free" stamp card alongside a tiered membership for premium clients with package discounts. All five card types are available in the same dashboard.
Does Brava do appointment booking?
No. Brava is not a booking platform. Appointments are handled by your existing salon software. Brava handles loyalty exclusively, so the two products complement each other rather than competing.
Is Brava better suited to single-location salons or chains?
Both. Brava bills per location, so it scales linearly with your number of locations. Single-location salons get the same wallet-native experience as multi-location chains. Geo-fencing supports multiple locations natively, so a chain can run one program with location-specific alerts.
