How Brava's pass actually behaves in Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet is covered on wallet loyalty cards.
Why teams switch to Brava
Wallet-native across Apple, Google, and Samsung
Dingg reaches clients through WhatsApp, SMS, email, and web-based booking. There is no wallet pass; there is no lock-screen surface. Brava lives inside Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet, the three apps every modern phone already opens daily. The loyalty card surfaces on the lock screen with live updates the next time the client touches their phone.
Presence channel, not broadcast channel
Dingg's engagement runs on WhatsApp campaigns (via an AI assistant), SMS, and email. All three are broadcast channels: design a message, hit send, pay per message, hope it gets opened. Brava's pass is already on the client's lock screen, updates without anyone sending anything, and costs zero per delivery. The difference shows up in cost curves as your client base scales.
Geo-fenced re-engagement at the right moment
Salons run on long cycles: clients come in every four to eight weeks and forget you exist between appointments. Brava fires a lock-screen notification when a client walks within ~100m of your salon, automatically, with zero per-message cost. Dingg has no equivalent: their engagement requires an operator-designed campaign through the AI WhatsApp assistant.
Wider vertical reach + deeper behavioral analytics
Dingg covers personal-care: salons, spas, wellness, clinics, gyms, tattoo studios. Brava covers personal-care AND cafes, restaurants, retail with one product. Brava also ships sixteen behavioral segments across three analytical lenses with per-segment playbooks attached, which is deeper than the analytics inside a bundled salon ops suite.
What Dingg does that we deliberately don't
Dingg ships a polished salon ops suite with an AI WhatsApp assistant and loyalty bundled inside it as one module among many. Different shape, different choices. Here is what we chose against, and the behavioral reasoning behind each rejection.
Dingg routes engagement through WhatsApp. We don't.
Dingg's AI WhatsApp assistant is genuinely well-built at automating reminders and follow-ups, if WhatsApp is the channel you believe in. We don't. WhatsApp lands in an inbox already full of personal chats. Marketing messages there get muted and archived. Per-send rates through Meta's Business API also compound the more clients you have. We've onboarded brands that ran the dominant WhatsApp-CRM loyalty platforms for three or four years with six or seven thousand customers in the database and lifetime redemption counts under ten. The mechanism doesn't work, no matter how clever the AI assistant on top. Brava's wallet pass surfaces on the lock screen with zero per-send cost. Read the full reasoning at /about/how-we-think/.
Dingg has no wallet-native delivery. We built the product around it.
Dingg's customer-facing surfaces are WhatsApp, SMS, email, and a web-based booking mini-site. There is no Apple Wallet pass, no Google Wallet pass, no Samsung Wallet pass, no lock-screen presence, no geo-fenced re-engagement. Brava made the opposite call on purpose. The wallet pass is the entire customer surface: installed in one tap, on the lock screen the next time the customer unlocks their phone, geo-triggered when they walk past your salon. The wallet is where loyalty belongs in 2026, and Dingg is on the wrong side of that surface bet.
Dingg bundles loyalty into a salon ops suite. We built one product, focused.
Loyalty inside Dingg is one module among appointments, staff scheduling, billing, and AI marketing. The product surface is huge and loyalty is necessarily one priority among many. We built Brava as loyalty-only, on purpose. Sixteen behavioral segments across three analytical lenses: a 7-segment RFM-flavored taxonomy with adaptive VIP thresholds calibrated to your salon, a 6-tier engagement classification, a 13-segment customer journey sankey. A leakage-rate metric that tells you what percentage of your at-risk clients never claimed a reward. Per-segment playbooks attached to the dashboard. That depth doesn't fit inside a salon ops sub-module.
The full reasoning behind every "no" on this list lives on How Brava thinks about loyalty.
Common questions
How does the customer-facing surface compare between Brava and Dingg?
Brava passes install with one tap into Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, or Samsung Wallet, the apps every phone already has. The pass lives on the lock screen and updates in real time. Dingg reaches clients through WhatsApp messages from an AI assistant, plus SMS, email, and a web-based booking mini-site. (The Dingg apps on the App Store and Play Store are for salon owners and staff, not for end clients.) The difference is presence (Brava) versus broadcast (Dingg).
Is Brava only for salons, or can it handle other business types?
Multi-vertical by design. Brava covers cafes, restaurants, salons, gyms, spas, and retail with one product. Dingg is salon-focused. If you run multiple business types, for example a salon and a cafe, Brava handles both in one dashboard. If you only run salons and want deep salon-specific ops, Dingg's vertical focus is its advantage.
Can I customize loyalty tiers and rewards for my salon with Brava?
Yes. Brava ships five program types: stamp, points, tiered membership, discount, and full membership. You can design a tiered membership with Silver, Gold, Platinum levels, custom thresholds, and per-tier benefits. The card design (colors, branding, name) is also fully customizable per program.
Does Brava handle salon-specific operations like appointments and staff?
No. Brava is loyalty-only. Appointments, staff scheduling, inventory, and POS are not in Brava's scope. Dingg ships those features as part of a broader suite. If you want one product for ops plus loyalty, Dingg. If you are happy with your existing salon ops and want loyalty as a layer on top, Brava.
How does Brava notify customers compared to Dingg's outreach channels?
The surface differs entirely. Dingg pushes through WhatsApp (via an AI assistant), SMS, and email; each send is a designed broadcast at a per-message cost. Brava pushes through the wallet OS itself: the pass updates on the lock screen automatically when stamps are added or rewards earned, plus geo-fenced lock-screen notifications when the customer is within ~100m of your salon. Wallet-OS pushes cost zero per send, do not require designing a campaign, and live on the lock screen instead of inside an inbox.
